Good News for DQYC Donors
Recent changes to federal tax law may make it easier than ever to benefit from your charitable giving to DQYC. For the 2026 tax year, non-itemizing taxpayers may be eligible to deduct up to $1,000 (single filers) or $2,000 (married filing jointly) in cash charitable contributions directly on their standard deduction return — meaning you may no longer need to itemize to receive a deduction for your donation.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Du Quoin Youth Club qualifies as an eligible organization under this provision. Whether you gave $50 to help buy equipment or $500 at the Charity Ball, your cash contribution may now count toward this deduction even if you take the standard deduction. Note that only cash contributions qualify — not donated goods, clothing, or property.
Tax laws are complex and individual circumstances vary. Please speak with your tax advisor to understand how this change may apply to your specific situation before filing.

Charity Ball Raises $18,000 — Our Best Year Yet
The 2026 DQYC Annual Charity Ball was our most successful fundraiser in the club's history. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors — including Prysmian, Knight Hawk, Arevon, Edward Jones, Regions Bank, Sparklight, Walmart, and State Farm — and every single person who bought a ticket, danced, and gave, we raised $18,000 for Du Quoin youth programs. Every dollar stays right here in our community. Planning has already begun for the 2027 event — mark your calendars for next fall.
